Let’s talk about your project →ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Museum of the Mountain Banat in Reșița grew out of local civic initiative: in 1957 a “Committee for the founding of the museum” was formed inside the town’s machine works. It is a young institution among the museums of the Banat, and its holdings are bound up with the industrial past of the Bârzava valley.
The site had to carry both the museum’s daily life and the scholarship behind it. The first part gathers announcements, events and exhibitions, alongside two series that bring visitors back month after month: “Object of the month” and “Museum stories”. The second belongs to the institution — European and national projects, the Banatica research journal published since 1971, and the collections, among them an archive of nearly 3,500 film posters and over 200 theatre posters.
For a public institution transparency is not optional: the org chart, salary scales, declarations of interest and consumer-protection details each have their own section, one click from the main menu.
