Photo Saga — photographer Adrian Bolboceanu

Photo Saga is the portfolio site of the photographer Adrian Bolboceanu, who shoots studio, event and portrait work. His work divides into two marks — Saga Stories and Saga Studio — and the site starts from them rather than hiding them in a menu.

The entry page is split vertically into two halves, one light and one dark, each with its own photograph and its own mark. The visitor reads nothing: they pick the side that concerns them — the story of an event, or a portrait made in the studio — and go straight in.

For a photographer that is the proof of competence as well. If the pictures cannot carry the decision on their own, there is no reason to build the site around them. No menu, no introductory copy, nothing between the viewer and the photograph.
